#ChooseToChallenge

When I saw this year’s International Women’s Day hashtag; #ChooseToChallenge, it absolutely resonated with me.

During my whole career I’ve always challenged the status quo, questioning why things are done the way they are, looking to see if I can I make a positive difference and naturally wanting to take the lead and make an impact.

So I embrace the word challenge and wow, hasn’t the last year been just that!

So on the day one challenge ends; the juggle of home schooling and working, I’m thankful that my two boys have just walked into their school, the place where learning will happen far better than that of home (I’m definitely no teacher!) and I have stepped foot into my business, my place of work that I have created because what I took from the challenges of the last year is to seek the opportunities within.

Having climbed the corporate ladder, in hope for an eventual seat at the board and a place to make my mark, I questioned if that would ever happen. So when the opportunity rose to make a change, I took that challenge and created my own place at the board, my own place that I’m in the driving seat of; my own business.

So to all the aspiring women, continue to look for opportunities, continue to work flexibility to suit your work life balance, continue to allow yourself time out of the business for family life and continue to #ChooseToChallenge.
