With the current way of the world right now…who needs an official day to mark the most grimmest day of the year, right!?
For many years, I’ve marked this day with a positive spin; I’ve always made sure that my team had a clear diary and were able to make a team breakfast where we would always begin the day in an up beat way coupled with over indulging on a full English. It always worked well and lifted everyone’s spirits, then we would head back to our office all bright and chirpy, ready to take the rest of the day on, fuelled with full bellies and buzzing off the amount of coffee we had consumed.
This year though, things are slightly different. No restaurants to head to for a slap up start to the day, no co-workers in my office to have banter with and a totally different work environment I now find myself working in.
However, times are getting better and I continue my positive outlook by marking the occasion of ‘Blue Monday’ with my fellow WFH colleague (hubby), new starter WFH online school learner (7yr old), by making tea, coffee and Pop Tarts as we all attempt to co-work, follow a school schedule, join multiple video calls and pay attention to x2 cats who are loving the constant attention who also like to feature as a backdrop to many calls!
Life has become a new different, far from normal, but I continue to see the hope in the positive change that is heading our way. Happy Blue Monday to everyone on this bright and sunny morning!
